What storms do to roofs
- Hail bruises shingles, knocks off granules, cracks tiles, dents metal and punctures coatings on flat roofs.
- Wind lifts and tears off shingles and loosens flashing and trim.
- Heavy rain finds any weak spot — parapets, canales, flashing.
Hail damage isn't always visible from the ground. See signs of hail damage.

A word on storm chasers
After big hailstorms, out-of-town crews often go door to door. Get a written estimate, make sure whoever you hire is licensed in New Mexico, and be wary of anyone asking for a large payment up front.
Roofing questions
Can you work with my insurance?
We can document damage and provide estimates. Coverage decisions are your insurer's.
Should I climb up to look?
No — check from the ground and let a roofer go up.
How soon after a storm should I call?
As soon as you can; some policies have time limits for claims.
