Signs it's time
- The coating rubs off chalky on your hand
- You can see the color of the foam through it
- Fine cracks or checking across the surface
- Peeling or blistering, especially near parapets
- Bare tan or brown foam in spots — that's overdue
Why timing matters
As long as foam is covered, a recoat is mostly cleaning and coating. Once foam is exposed to sun, it degrades and has to be cut out and replaced before coating. The longer it waits, the more foam work.
Best time to recoat
Coatings need dry weather and suitable temperatures to cure. Late spring and early fall are often ideal around Corrales — after spring winds calm down, and around monsoon afternoons in summer.
Make it last
Keep the roof clear of leaves, clean canales, keep foot traffic off and fix punctures quickly.

From a safe spot, look for color showing through and chalkiness. Or call for an inspection.
Can I recoat myself?
Prep and thickness are what make a coating last; we recommend a professional.
How many times can a foam roof be recoated?
Many times, as long as the foam stays sound.
