When a Corrales flat roof is done
- The coating is gone and the foam underneath is brown, soft or crumbling
- Patches on patches, and new leaks every monsoon season
- Water sits in the same spots for days after a storm
- Soft spots underfoot that suggest wet insulation or rotten decking
How we approach it
- Check what's there. Many older Corrales roofs have several layers. We find out what's wet and what's sound.
- Remove what has to go. Wet or failed layers come off; damaged decking is replaced.
- Fix the slope. No more low spots by the parapets.
- Parapets and canales. Caps sealed, inside faces wrapped, canales replaced or resealed.
- New roof system. Foam and coating, TPO or modified bitumen.
- Penetrations. Cooler stands, vents and skylights flashed into the new roof.
Cottonwood country
Corrales' big cottonwoods mean leaves and fluff in the canales every year. We size and set canales so they're easy to clear, and extend them so water lands away from adobe walls.

Roofing questions
Foam or TPO for my Corrales home?
Both work well. Foam adds insulation and builds slope; TPO is a welded white membrane. See our foam vs TPO guide.
How long does a flat roof replacement take?
Often a few days for a typical home, depending on tear-off and repairs.
Will you replace my canales?
Rusted, leaking or undersized canales are replaced as part of the job.
